Eight skills, each from level 1 to 99, on the same curve the old games used, only four times gentler.

The eight skills

Skill	Malay	Trained by	Higher levels give
Fishing	Nelayan	Catching anything at a fishing spot.	Better catch rates, and new spots at 5, 8 and 12. Mak Long Esah's lesson: one tick faster at every spot.
Woodwork	Tukang Kayu	Cutting trees, harvesting palms, making things at the boatyard.	Better cutting, and recipes at 2 and 3. Pak Mat's lesson: one tick faster on trees and palms.
Cooking	Masak	Grilling raw catches at a fire or grill.	Less burning, and new catches to cook at 5, 6 and 10. Mak Jah's lesson: 15% less burning.
Attack	Serang	Landing blows with Attack as your training focus.	Accuracy with your fists and the staff.
Strength	Kuasa	Landing blows with Strength as your training focus.	Max hit: one more for every 4 levels.
Defence	Tangkis	Blows with Defence as your focus, dodging bites, sparring with Abang Zul.	Creatures miss you more often. Abang Zul's lesson: +1 armour.
Archery	Memanah	Hitting creatures and practice targets with a bow.	Accuracy and max hit with a bow; the horn bow at 10. Tok Ali's lesson: your own bow.
Body	Tubuh	Every blow or arrow that lands in a fight.	One more hit point a level, and faster breath.

Your total level is all eight added together; it is shown under the Skills tab.

The XP curve

Experience (XP) turns into levels on the classic curve, divided by four, so the early levels come quickly. XP keeps counting up to 200 million, and the level stops at 99.

XP for level L = floor( Σ[i = 1 … L−1] floor( i + 300 × 2^(i/7) ) / 4 )

Level 2 takes 83 XP, level 10 takes 1,154, and level 99 takes 13,034,431.

A ribbon with the skill's icon rises over the screen, petals scatter (unless motion is turned down), and if you are standing idle your character cheers. The skill's next level and the XP still needed are in its tooltip on the Skills tab.
